MVP Baseball 2004

Unlimited MVP points:
Reach a desired level of MVP points to spend on a player, stadium, or throwback
jersey. Use them to unlock a bonus, then save your roster. Do not save your
profile. Instead, reload your profile. Your MVP points will be at their pre-purchase
amount. Use them to continue buying as many other bonuses as desired.

Select dynasty mode and choose the Yankees. Turn off injuries, trades, rain outs,
and budget. Set the difficulty on MVP. Simulate to the last game of each month. On
that game, choose to simulate it (not quick sim; choose "Play" then "Sim"). Stop
the simulation at the top of the ninth inning and choose to manage the remainder
of the game. Do this for every month for the rest of the season. When the season
ends, and you see "Advance To Playoffs", save the dynasty. Then,
choose "Advance To Playoffs". Each time it will show your points earned.(about
13,000 to 17,000). Do not save after this. Exit dynasty mode, then keep re-
entering and choosing "Advance To Playoffs". Each time you do this, you will get
that same MVP point amount put into your profile.

MVP points:
After completing various goals, you will get a message stating that you have
earned MVP Points. Enter the "MVP Rewards Checklist" screen in "My MVP" to
check how many points you have earned, and how many are needed to unlock the
various bonuses. You will earn twice as many MVP Points under the Pro difficulty
setting, three times as many under the All-Star difficulty setting, and four times as
many under the MVP difficulty setting. Also, MVP points are not awarded when
games are simulated. The classic players that are unlocked will begin at age 30
and will age and retire like other players.

Barry Bonds:
Go to "Edit Player" and select Jon Dowd of the San Francisco Giants. Change his
number and name to Barry Bonds #25. His name will be annoucned when he
comes to the plate for San Francisco, and all of his statistics are already in the
game as "Jon Dowd".

Get any player:
To get any player on your team in dynasty mode, create an outfielder with the
best stats. Sign him as cheap as you can for one year. You can trade him for any
player (for example A-Rod, Mark Prior, etc.)

Cheap perfect player:
Create a player with all desired information. Leave his attributes exactly as is.
Then, go to "Free Agents". Sign that player to a long cheap contract. Then, go to
create/edit again and change the player's attributes to make him perfect.

Bad player warning:
Do not create a player named Erik Kiss. If you do, every time he swings he will
break his bat and send a little dribbler to the pitcher for a sure out. Also, you
cannot bunt with him; it will just go foul.

Big hitter:
Select the "Create A Player" option. Create a player named keegan paterson,
jacob paterson, or isaiah paterson (case-sensitive). The player will have a very
large bat. He will hit a home run or a hard line drive every time you make contact,
no matter what his stats.

Huge cap:
Select the "Create A Player" option. Create a player named john prosen (case-
sensitive).

Move EA Trax window:
To move the EA Trax window around the screen, move the C-stick when the white
song introduction window appears.

Home Run King:
Create a player with the name: keegan paterson. ( watch the case-sensitivity ) he
has an oversized bat that allows you to hit really far homers or really hard line
drives everytime. He can have horrible stats and still hit home runs every time.

MVP Point Limit:
You can only hold 50,000 MVP points at a time. Once you reach that amount,
spend them. Otherwise, any points you earn afterwards will not be given to you
because you're full.

Simulate to Earn MVP Points :
In Dynasty Mode you recieve MVP points periodically for accomplishments.
Assemble a team you feel is good enough to simulate to the playoffs (hint:
Yankees). Simulate the season up to the second to last game and then save the
game. Once you have it saved, simulate the last game and move into the playoffs.
Generally, you recieve anywhere between 5000-9000 MVP points for making the
playoffs. Save the points onto your profile when prompted, and then exit the
Dynasty mode without saving. Repeat the process and you'll notice that every time
you simulate into the playoffs you're saving the points and not your progress. Do
this about 20-25 times and you'll have enough points for all the rewards.

Ultimate Method of Earning MVP Points
Start a new dynasty with the YANKEES. In the DYNASTY SETTINGS page right
after you chose to start a new dynasty and even before you choose which team,
choose NO for a fantasty draft, put the difficulty level on MVP, turn injuries off,
turn suspensions off, turn errors off, turn the trade deadline OFF, turn CPU initiated
trades OFF, turn rained out games OFF, and leave everything else as the default.
Also, you need to make sure you have the user profile set as PROF1 or if you have
your own profile use that one and set it as that in the dynasty options page.

Once you're on the main page of the dynasty, go to SCHEDULE. Scroll all the way
through the calender to the last game of the season, since we are using the
Yankees for the dynasty, the last game of the regular season on the calender
should be on October 3rd, so scroll to October 3rd and choose "Sim up to and
including this day." It will take a couple minutes to sim through the entire regular
season because the baseball schedule is long and it also has to sim through your
two minor league teams associated with the franchise. Throughout the sim, various
messages will pop up about the allstar game, minor league playoffs, etc. When
these messages pop up, just ignore them and choose "Continue Sim."

Once the sim finishes, go back to the main dynasty page and there will be a couple
of boxes that popup saying congratulations you've received 1000 or so MVP points,
just click OK and ignore them, because that's not where the bigtime MVP points
are. Go to "Advance to next day" and keep pressing continue until you're back at
the main dynasty management page and a box pops up saying that the regular
season is over.

Right now, save your dynasty and once you're finished saving it go to "Advance To
Playoffs", you MUST make sure you save your dynasty at this point BEFORE you
choose to advance to the playoffs. After you click on "advance to playoffs," a box
will pop up saying "Congratulations, you have completed one or more tasks and
have been awarded XXXXX MVP points." The amount of MVP points varies,
however you are guaranteed to receive anywhere between at least 15,000 and
20,000 MVP points. Click on OK after that box comes up and press CIRCLE on
your PS2 controller which brings up your profile options. When you bring up your
profile options go to "Save Profile" and save your profile, it will ask if you want to
overwrite previous data and choose YES.

There you go, you've just gotten roughly 20,000 MVP points. Do NOT save your
dynasty, the only time you should have ever saved this dynasty was after you
finished simming the regular season before you clicked on "advance to playoffs".
At this point, just exit the dynasty and a message will pop up saying "are you sure
you want to exit, you will lose all of your MVP points and unsaved changes", ignore
this message and choose YES. You will not lose your MVP points because you have
already saved your profile! You'll now be back at the main menu of MVP Baseball
2004. Just go back to game modes, then go to dynasty mode and load the
dynasty.

Once you load the dynasty, just click on "Advance to playoffs" and you'll receive
another 20,000 MVP points. Just save your profile and exit the dynasty, then just
load it back up again, click on advnace to playoffs again, save your profile again,
and exit. You can do this as much as many times as you want, then just go to "My
MVP" on the main menu MVP Baseball 2004 and go into "MVP REWARDS" and
unlock EVERYTHING.

Easy steals:
When you have a runner on first or second base, allow the runner to reach the
maximum lead. Before the pitcher throws, hold Steal. When you slide into the
base, press C-stick Down/Right and the runner will slide around the tag. This may
differ when running to third.
